Julie Harrison

Julie Harrison is a Graphic Designer and print and pattern enthusiast living in Brisbane, Australia. After completing qualifications in Commercial Art and Graphic Design, Julie enjoyed a career in the busy corporate sector for 18 years before leaving with a big spring in her step to launch her own creative space - Pattern Play Studio. Her passion for colour, print and pattern started as a young child in the 70’s, influenced by the graphic, bold and colourful designs of that era, and further inspired by her craft loving Mother and milliner/seamstress Grandmother. Florals and botanicals in various forms are a recurring theme in Julie’s designs. She enjoys the versatility of applying different styles in her art and creating with various mediums, from marker pens, gouache and watercolour paints to graphic and digitally rendered illustrations. Her art is colourful, vibrant, bold, modern and has a positive and joyful aesthetic. ‘Designing Happiness’ is one of Julie’s main aims when creating her prints and patterns.
